The Detroit Blues Heritage Series Presents: Detroit Blues Piano
On Saturday November 3, 2018 The Detroit Blues Heritage Series will present Detroit Blues Piano. This event will take place at the Historic Scarab Club, 217 Farnsworth in Detroit’s Cultural Center from PMuntil 4 PM. A $7.00 Donation is requested.
Featured at this event will be Pianists Jimmie Bones and Chris Codish.
Jimmie Bones is the organ/piano/keyboard player is most recently has been playing in Kid Rock's Twisted Brown Trucker Band. Jimmie also fronted the seminal Detroit hard rock band Jimmie Bones and the Grave Robbers in the early 1990s.
Keyboard specialist Chris Codish has steadily made himself a vital part of the Detroit musical community. A perennial winner at the Detroit Music Awards over the past fourteen years, he has received multiple honors for his vocal and songwriting skills as well as his keyboard mastery. He formed the multi award winning funk/jazz/jam band The Brothers Groove and produced the last two albums for the late, great Detroit bluesman Johnnie Bassett on Sly Dog Records.
This band, With the Rhythm Section of Tino Gross (drums) and Mike Marshall (bass), will focus the Piano Blues traditions in Detroit and how they relate to music in Detroit.
The Detroit Blues Society is a 501(c) 3 non-profit dedicated to the preservation, education and advancement of the Blues tradition as it relates to the Metro Detroit area.
